
Dr. Peter Bayer
Peter F. Bayer grew up in Syracuse, New York and graduated
from Syracuse University with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics
and Mechanical Engineering and a Master's Degree in Business
Administration. He was stationed at Tyndall Air Force Base
in Panama City, Florida from 1961-1964 as an engineer in the
4750th Test Squadron.
After leaving the Air Force, Dr. Bayer attended dental school
at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Bayer
graduated number one in his class and received many awards
for his academic and clinical achievements. He then stayed
at Buffalo to specialize in and complete a residency in Orthodontics
and Dentofacial Orthopedics. Dr. Bayer is an active member
of several local, state, and national dental and orthodontic
organizations. He continues to bring the latest advancements
in technology to his practice by regularly participating in
continuing education courses.
For fun, Dr. Bayer enjoys traveling, flying, fishing and
boating. He and his wife, Martha, and their four children,
Eric, Leigh (now married to Damian Curtis), Zach and Lauren
have lived in Ft. Walton Beach since 1976. Spending time with
his family is a top priority of Dr. Bayer.
Dr. Leigh Bayer Curtis
Leigh Bayer Curtis is the daughter of Dr. Peter Bayer and grew up right here in the great town of Fort Walton Beach, Florida! She graduated from Fort Walton Beach High School in 1992 then headed to Clemson University in South Carolina. Dr. Curtis earned a Bachelor's degree in Health Science with pre-dental emphasis. After college, she spent a year in Vail, Colorado experiencing life as a waitress with unlimited time on the ski slopes and fun with her friends.
After Colorado, Dr. Curtis attended the University of Alabama's School of Dentistry. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree and enjoyed being involved and holding leadership positions in organized dentistry. She participated in community outreach dentistry programs and assisted with "Special Smiles" during the Special Olympics. Dr. Curtis also earned the Award of Excellence for her contributions to the American Student Dental Association (ASDA) and the Alumni Scholarship Award.
Following dental school, Dr. Curtis did postdoctoral training as a resident in General Dentistry at the University Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. During that year, she treated medically compromised patients and obtained a Masters in Public Health (MPH) degree.
Dr. Curtis and her husband, Damian, moved from their "Sweet Home in Alabama" to New York City where Dr. Curtis completed a residency in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at New York University College of Dentistry. She is excited about joining her father's orthodontic practice where they will now enjoy both a Father-Daughter and professional relationship.
Dr. Curtis and her husband Damian Curtis are excited to be home and look forward to raising their children Hayden Louise and Martha Rylee in their home town of Fort Walton Beach.
